Bishop Stuart University (BSU) today celebrated the graduation of 77 participants who completed various short courses at Kyangwali Settlement in Kikuube District.
The ceremony, held at the playground of Kasonga Primary School, marked a significant milestone for the graduates, who received certificates in a range of practical and marketable skills. These included salon and hairdressing, tailoring, oil and gas, carpentry, catering and hotel management and information and communication technology (ICT).
The event was attended by key district and university officials, including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kikuube, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and the District Education Officer (DEO), alongside the University Secretary, the University Public Relations Officer and nine BSU staff members.
In his remarks as Guest of Honour, the RDC commended BSU for its contribution to job creation through skills-based training in Kikuube District and across the country. He further encouraged university stakeholders to consider establishing a branch campus in the district to expand access to education and skills development.
The graduates were congratulated for their achievement and encouraged to apply their newly acquired skills as they begin the next chapter of their professional journeys.
