The University Chaplain is appointed by the University Council on recommendation of the Bishop of Ankole Diocese of the Anglican Church of Uganda on terms and conditions and Council may determine in accordance with the statutes.
Bishop Stuart University Chapel of the Good Shepherd offers on-campus and virtual services with leadership from priests educated in biblical principles and practices. Services provided by the chaplaincy include chapel services; Wednesday and Sunday service or mass, Bible Study, Morning devotion, Ladies’ and Gents’ workshops, marrieds fellowship, Born-agains fellowship, Community hours’ fellowship, outreach missions, semester missions and spiritual counseling.
The chapel of The Good Shepherd is comprised of three main strands; the Protestant community, Catholic community and Moslem community all with complete leadership and places of worship overseen by the University Chaplain. Students are involved in chapel leadership, choir and outreach missions. Students are also nurtured into church leadership as preachers of the Gospel through parachurch organisations like Langham Uganda.
