BSU has a firm foundation in faith, service and scholarship. The next years constitute a foundational take-off for BSU to advance as a mission-driven, globally relevant institution, producing intellectually sound, morally upright, socially engaged, and professionally competent graduates, ready to impact Uganda and the world for the glory of God and the good of humanity. The following beliefs guide the operations, teaching, and culture of Bishop Stuart University;
- Christ-centredness: All knowledge and Leadership are ultimately accountable to God. BSU believes in the Lordship of Christ as central to academic excellence, ethical behaviour, accountability and professionalism.
- Holistic Human Formation: Education must nurture the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical capacities of students and staff. BSU is committed to producing graduates who are balanced and purpose-driven.
- Justice and Reconciliation: Inspired by the Biblical call to “act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God,” BSU seeks to be an instrument of peace and reconciliation, especially in communities fractured by historical, political or social divisions.
