Earlier today, the Female Lawyers Network Club was officially launched at the Faculty of Law by Dr.Joyce Nalunga Birimumaaso, President of the Female Lawyers Network (FLN) accompanied by Counsel Leah Nasasira, CEO-FLN.
The launch was witnessed by the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Gershom Atukunda, HW. Nanteza Zulaika (Deputy Registrar attached to Mbarara High Court), staff and students. The Female Lawyers Network is a diverse feminist network that gathers together female lawyers from all areas of practice (judicially, diplomatic missions and female law students).
The VC encouraged female students at the faculty to embrace and be part of this great initiative. He pledged support and cooperation towards FLN, students and staff in championing the cause for legal education and practice especially in the profession as this will enable them to share their wisdom and experiences, encouraging aspiring lawyers to embrace this newfound opportunity.
