The Academic Registrar, Bishop Stuart University, invites applications for admission to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. Programmes for January, April and August Intakes, Academic Year 2026/2027.
Procedure for Application
- Applicants should attach copies of their academic documents, starting with O-Level and A-Level results or certificates, followed by any other relevant qualifications. Applicants must also attach valid identification documents, such as a national ID, a former school ID, or a driving permit. Foreign/international applicants are required to attach equated academic documents from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
- Applicants should attach a copy of their national identity card or migration certificate (for international students).
- Ph.D. applicants must have a written concept paper (of about 8 pages) attached for easy processing of their admission letters.
How to Apply Online
1. Navigate to our online application portal: https://apply.bsu.ac.ug
2. Click Create Account button to begin your registration.
3. You’ll be presented with a registration form. Please provide the following information accurately;
- First Name: Enter your official first name as it appears on your identification documents
- Last Name: Enter your official surname or family name
- Email Address: Provide a valid email address that you check regularly.
- Phone Number: Enter your active mobile number starting with the country code (Eg, +256722000000)
- Password: Create a strong password using a combination of letters, numbers & special characters
- Confirm Password: Re-enter your password to ensure accuracy
4. After filling in all required fields, click CREATE button at the bottom of the form. Your account will be created instantly. Proceed to the login page. Enter the email address and password you registered with to log in.
5. Upon login, select a scheme of your choice.
- Undergraduate Schemes: For students pursuing Bachelor’s degrees
- Graduate Schemes: For students pursuing Master’s and Postgraduate programmes
- PhD Schemes: For students pursuing PhD programmes
6. Before you commit to applying, we encourage you to explore the programmes offered. Click the “View Programs” button on any scheme. Once you’ve identified your desired programme, you’re ready to begin the application process.
7. Click “Apply Now” Button located on the scheme card you wish to apply for.
8. You will be prompted to select one of the following entry qualifications:
- UCE/UACE: If you completed the UCE and UACE
- Higher Education Certificate: If you hold a certificate from a recognized institution
- Diploma in a Relevant Field: If you’ve completed a diploma program related to your chosen course
- Mature Entry Examinations: If you’re applying through the mature age entry route

- Application fee for Undergraduate Programmes is Ugx. 30,000 (thirty thousand shillings only)
- Application fee for Postgraduate Programmes is Ugx. 50,000 (fifty thousand shillings only)
- Application fee for Ph.D. programs is Ugx. 100,000 (one hundred thousand shillings only)
- A commitment fee of Ugx. 100,000 is paid at the time of picking your admission letter.
- Please note that payment by cash to any officer at Bishop Stuart University is not allowed. All the fees are paid through banks that are in partnership with Bishop Stuart University, ie, Pearl Bank (formerly Post Bank), MILLENIUM SACCO 2012 Ltd, Absa Bank, Equity Bank, Stanbic Bank and DFCU. All you need is to create a Payment Reference Number.
- All Programmes are PRIVATE-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programs EXCLUDE functional fees.
- The Higher Education Students Financing Secretariat (Students Loan Scheme) loan scheme under the Government of Uganda supports Science-related Programmes at Bishop Stuart University. To process this loan scheme, one must have applied for a programme and be admitted to BSU first.
- The Prof. Enoka Rukare Family Scholarship is available for the Bachelor of Education Programme and covers only tuition. Read more about the scholarship.
- An applicant with a diploma of the same bachelor course directly joins year two and does the course for 2 years, except for Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Production, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Nursing Science.
- An applicant with a relevant Postgraduate Diploma of the same Master’s programme directly joins year two for research and does the course for 1 year.
