FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (FAEST)
The Dairy Value Chain Project at BSU will support five (5) Masters Students to develop products along this value chain. Funded by RUFORUM for a period of 18 months, beginning June 2024, the project seeks to strengthen the dairy value chain and enable it to deliver improved incomes to smallholder farmers. The project will specifically, among other things, produce and commercialise innovative products that can improve the functionality of the value chain for smallholder farmers. Product development will be supported by postgraduate research in collaboration with industry partners. If you are a Masters’ student, who has successfully completed coursework, and are interested in product development for your research, this is a Call for Expression of Interest, for the following:
- Preservation and Commercialization of Silage (1 Student)
- Preservation and commercialization of local milk products (1 student)
- Production and testing of a herbal veterinary solution (1 student)
- Development of a marketing strategy for the dairy value chain products, using ICTs (2 Students)
Eligibility
- Students who have completed their coursework in a Masters Programmes such as MAVM, MARI, MCCFS, and are beginning their research
- Any other related background is welcome, provided you are passionate about product development.
- 4 is strictly for students of MBIT
