Bishop Stuart University (BSU) concluded the three-day African Women’s Leadership and Mental Wellbeing Training on 30 October 2026, awarding certificates to participants who completed the course.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor’s Commissary, Assoc. Prof. Gershom Atukunda, thanked Mr. Daniel Kamanga and the African Leadership Transformation (ALT) Foundation for making the programme possible. He also appreciated Assoc. Prof. Margaret Oloko and Mrs. Millie Rasekoala for sharing their knowledge and experiences and commended Dr. Donah Asiimire for advancing BSU’s Strategic Goal Five on internationalisation.
Assoc. Prof. Gershom Atukunda urged participants to apply the skills acquired, emphasising the importance of responsible leadership and mental wellbeing.
“When we empower a woman to lead, we strengthen an institution. But when we empower her to lead while protecting her mental wellbeing, we strengthen not only the institution but also the person, her family and the wider community,” he said.
Assoc. Prof. Oloko encouraged the graduates to build lasting leadership legacies and share what they learned with other women in their communities.
