Today, 30th September, 2026, a team from the Ministry of Education and Sports’ Higher Education Students Financing Scheme (HESFS) has conducted a sensitisation session at Bishop Stuart University (BSU) for students admitted under the Government of Uganda’s student loan scheme. The initiative provides financial support to students pursuing programmes in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), enabling them to access and complete Higher Education.
This year, nearly 120 students at Bishop Stuart University have benefited from the HESFS student loan scheme. During the sensitisation session, the beneficiaries signed loan agreements, formally confirming their commitment to the scheme’s terms and conditions.
Addressing the sponsored students, the HESFS team, led by Mr. Kazinga Alex Ngobi and Ms. Nagawa Susan, encouraged the beneficiaries to recognise the opportunity as an investment in their education and future. The team urged the students to remain focused and committed to their studies, emphasising the importance of making the most of the opportunity to pursue higher education.
They also reminded the beneficiaries of their responsibility to repay the loans after completing their studies and securing employment, urging them to uphold honesty and fulfil their repayment obligations in accordance with the terms of the scheme.
