Bishop Stuart University Faculty of Law, on Friday, 8th May 2026, held its Annual Law Dinner at Hotel Triangle in Mbarara City under the theme “Integrity Above Profit”. The event attracted a significant turnout of students from Year One to Year Four, alongside staff, alumni and guests.
The dinner also featured the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Law Society leaders and the official send-off of outgoing leaders, who received certificates in recognition of their exemplary service and leadership.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Students, Rev. Canon Asaph Kabakyenga, applauded the students for their unity and collaborative spirit. He emphasized the importance of pursuing not only knowledge but also understanding and wisdom to effectively address legal issues and navigate the complexities of the legal profession with integrity and professionalism.
Distinguished guests, led by Counsel Nayebare, commended Counsel Allan Byamugisha, Head of Department at the Faculty of Law, for his exceptional leadership and mentorship of students and faculty clubs. Counsel Nayebare also appreciated the outgoing student leaders for their dedication and encouraged them to remain ethical and principled as they advance in their legal careers. She further expressed pride in the growing impact and performance of BSU Law Faculty alumni serving in various law firms and institutions across the country.
Conversations and reflections marked the evening, as attendees shared experiences on the challenges and rewards of upholding ethical standards within the legal profession. In his remarks, Counsel Allan encouraged students and alumni to remain connected to the Faculty even after graduation, emphasizing the value of networking, mentorship and professional collaboration.
