The Public Relations Officer of Bishop Stuart University (BSU), Rev. Dr. Charles Mukundane, urged students to stay focused and committed to their studies if they aspire to become successful, influential people in the future. “You can become what you want to be in the future when you are focused,” he said. He also guided students on the requirements for joining university and highlighted some academic programmes and opportunities offered at Bishop Stuart University.
Mr. Andrew Ayebare, the Assistant Academic Registrar at BSU, urged students to always pray to God for guidance and protection against anything that could negatively affect their future. He further encouraged them to join community groups and other initiatives that can contribute to building their careers and personal development. In addition, Mr. Andrew also encouraged the students not to be defined by where they come from or the school they attend, but to remain determined in their studies and avoid comparing themselves with others. He encouraged them to remain hopeful and committed to achieving success in their education and invited them to consider joining BSU after completing their secondary education.
The Head Teacher of Nyakayojo Secondary School, Mr. Gumoshabe Eric Batuura, commended BSU team for sparing time to provide career guidance to the students, noting that the session was valuable to them. He also appreciated the longstanding partnership between the school and the University and urged students to put into practice the guidance they had received.
The initiative continues to strengthen BSU’s commitment to community engagement, career development and partnerships with institutions of learning.
