On 6th September 2026, Bishop Stuart University (BSU) concluded its Mini Mission Week with an Admissions Ceremony to officially welcome and admit all new students from the January, April and August intakes for the 2026/2027 academic year. The Mini Mission Week, which commenced on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, was held under the theme “Anchored in Christ for Unity, Stability and Peace” (Ephesians 2:14–17). The concluding ceremony began with a church service held at the University Chapel grounds.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Francis Mugisha, who was the Chief Guest, officially admitted all the new students and welcomed them to the University. He encouraged them to put Christ at the centre of their lives as they pursue their studies and prepare for their future. “You have joined a university that will shape your future. At BSU, we transform our learners to be Responsible, Ethical, Employable, Entrepreneurial and God-fearing (REEE+G),” he said.
As part of the ceremony, all new students from the various faculties took the Fresh Students’ Oath, affirming their commitment to uphold the values and standards of Bishop Stuart University. They pledged, to the best of their knowledge, to abide by the policies, rules, regulations and guidelines governing the University at all times and with honesty.
The Chief Missioner, Dr. Kenneth Katakanya, Executive Director of Rushere Community Hospital, urged the new students to embrace discipline and avoid behaviours that could jeopardise their lives and future. He also encouraged the students to make responsible choices, warning them against engaging in activities that could put their lives at risk or cause them to lose their lives prematurely.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a week of spiritual activities aimed at strengthening students’ faith, promoting unity and encouraging them to remain anchored in Christ throughout their university journey.
