The Academic Registrar, Bishop Stuart University invites applications for the Bachelor of Arts in Community and Local Governance (BCLG) for the Academic Year 2020/2021.
This is a three-year degree programme accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) under the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Governance, Department of Social Work and Social Administration.
Admission to BCLG Programme
To be admitted to the BCLG programme, a candidate is required to satisfy the general University requirements for admission to a degree programme.
For admission under the Direct Entry Scheme, a candidate must have:
- A minimum of two principle passes at A’ Level and one subsidiary obtained at the same sitting in Ugandan Secondary Schools or other countries with equivalent educational system.
- A relevant Diploma (or an equivalent qualification) from any recognized institution.
Mature Age Entry
For Admissions under Mature Age Entry Scheme, a Candidate must pass the Mature Age Entry Examinations in those subjects relevant to the professional degree course of BCLG
With the creation of new districts, it is observed that the demand for Human Resource in Local Government structures is always going to be so high.
Therefore, the development and teaching of the courses herein will help address the likely demand.
The graduates of Bachelor of Arts in Community and Local Governance will get career/job opportunities as; Sub-county chiefs, Parish chiefs, Community Development Officers, Chief Administrative Officers, Planners, Community Livelihood Officers, Local council leaders, Human Resource officers, and many more.
