On 23rd August 2026, Bishop Stuart University (BSU) participated in the 27th edition of Ekitaramo held at Igongo Country Hotel and Cultural Centre under the theme “The Importance of Youth Moral Conduct in National Development.”
The event brought together various institutions and companies that showcased innovative products and initiatives. BSU Agriculture students exhibited several innovations, including organic fertilisers, yoghurt, mushrooms and cosmetics.
The Guest of Honour, Minister of State for Gender, Labour and Social Development (Gender and Culture), Hon. Mary Kutesa, commended BSU students for their innovative products. She encouraged them to use the skills gained at the University to create jobs and employ others in their communities.
The youth were urged to embrace hard work, discipline and activities that contribute positively to their future. Parents were also encouraged to take an active role in mentoring their children, especially during holidays and to expose them to practical skills beyond classroom learning.
BSU’s participation in Ekitaramo is part of the University’s commitment to community outreach, innovation and youth empowerment.
