The 20th edition of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) games commenced today at the hosting UCU Mukono courts, with Bishop Stuat University (BSU) making a promising start.
BSU recorded a 2-0 win against Lira University in their first football outing, where Yusuf Lule scored both goals in the first half for an encouraging beginning in the highly competitive discipline.
BSU again recorded a crucial 3-2 win against rivals Mbarara University of Science and Technology in their men’s volleyball group game, a result that keeps them with high hopes of making it past the group stages.
It was also a good start for them in the girls’ and boys’ woodball doubles as they posted encouraging results in both. Other institutions, including Mountains of the Moon from Fort Portal, Bugema, Makerere, hosts UCU and Ndejje, posted positive results in different disciplines on the first day of the championship.
The games were officially opened today and will continue tomorrow with all other disciplines, apart from athletics, that start on Sunday.
