Dr. Otwine Anne Tweheyo holds a PhD in Counselling Psychology from Makerere University (2025), Master of Arts Counseling Psychology from Uganda Christian University, Mukono (2006-2008) and a Bachelor of Arts Education from Makerere University (1991-1994). She serves as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bishop Stuart University where she is also a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Health and Biomedical Sciences.
She is a Fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals (FAIPHP), an alumna of the 7th Academy of Higher Education Resource Services–East Africa (HERS-EA) and a former board member of the Uganda Counselling Association (UCA).
Professional Experience
Dr. Anne has been a lecturer at Bishop Stuart University since 2017. Among other professional experiences include: Coordinator academic programs of Psychology (Bishop Stuart University, Faculty of Business and Development, 2017- 2019), Lecturer Uganda Christian University Mukono 2010 -2017 (Lecturer of Psychology in the Faculty of Education and Arts, and Counselling in the Faculty of Social Sciences), Board Member Uganda Counselling Association (UCA) 2016/2017, Member founding Board of Uganda Council of Psychologists 2015/2017, Visiting lecturer Global Link Africa, Volunteer University Counselling Services, Uganda Christian University, New Vision (Media House) consultancy 2013 –to date, Professional consulting writer, New Vision (2013- 2016), Peer Counselor Supervision 2015, Peer Counselors Training 2012/14.
Her expertise spans leadership, mentorship and research, with active involvement in NIH and MOMENTUM-USAID funded projects. She has published scholarly papers and a book chapter in the fields of career guidance, counselling, HIV/AIDS, education, and mental health. She also contributes as a peer reviewer for international journals in education and HIV (Wiley & Sage).
Beyond academia, she provides consultancy services to organizations such as New Vision Publishing Company, International Centre for Mental Health and Family Care Limited, and Brainwave Careers Uganda. She is a member of the Uganda AIDS Commission’s research agenda project and serves on boards of reputable schools in Southwestern Uganda. Her expertise makes her a person deeply invested in shaping health education, advancing research, and mentoring the next generation of professionals.
