—25th February 2026
As part of the ongoing 10th BSU Week celebrations, Bishop Stuart University this afternoon has dedicated its 2025–2035 Strategic Plan to the service of God.
The dedication service was graced by the Chancellor, Rt. Rev. Assoc. Prof. Fred Mwesigwa, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John F. Mugisha, members of Top Management, staff and students.
The new strategic plan is guided by a core theme “Transformation in Academic Delivery, Infrastructural Development, Community Engagement, Research, Innovations and Global Competitiveness”.
The plan outlines 10 strategic goals, each championed by carefully appointed leaders under the stewardship of the Vice-Chancellor. These goals articulate the University’s direction and identity as a forward-looking institution that embraces change, nurtures talent and delivers meaningful impact, a vision the Vice-Chancellor has termed “Cambridgisation”.
The Ten Strategic Goals
- Deliver transformative, future-focused and high-impact academic programmes.
- Utilize digital technologies to enhance learning, research and administration
- Create a modern, inclusive and sustainable learning environment
- Strengthen the University’s contribution to societal development
- Position the University as a globally engaged institution
- Ensure the long-term viability of the University
- Foster student creativity, innovation, leadership, welfare and talent development
- Provide an enabling environment for the well-being and productivity of staff
- Nurture moral integrity, ethics and spiritual well-being
- Strengthen leadership and accountability at all institutional levels
During the service, staff and students pledged their collective commitment to the successful implementation of the strategic plan.
