Bishop Stuart University (BSU) has once again made a mark on the national stage at the 2025 Uganda Students’ Leaders Conference, held at Gulu University from September 10th to 13th, 2025.
During the Annual General Meeting of the Uganda Deans of Students Forum, Rev. Canon Asaph Kabakyenga, Dean of Students at BSU, was unanimously elected as the new Deputy General Secretary for a three-year term. He succeeds Mr. Nabaasa Medard Abaasa, currently the University Secretary at BSU and formerly the DOS at Cavendish University Uganda.
The conference attracted over 34 University Deans of Students and 180 student guild leaders from across the country. It provided a platform for capacity building, leadership training and discussions on challenges and opportunities in higher education.
In addition to this leadership milestone, Bishop Stuart University was also selected to host the next Uganda Deans of Students Forum Conference, scheduled for September/October 2026.
Rev. Canon Kabakyenga’s election is expected to bring renewed energy and vision to the Forum, particularly in strengthening student mentorship, leadership ethics and holistic development.
