SUMMARY:Business Coach Training (ToT) for BSU Staff
DESCRIPTION:BSU-AVSI partnership in the Skilling in Agripreneurship for Increased Youth Employment (SAY) project. \nIntroduction: \nAVSI Foundation is implementing the Skilling in Agripreneurship for Increased Youth Employment (SAY) Project with funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands (EKN).  SAY is a 4-year project running from November 2020 to December 2024 and focusing on developing competences of young people between 13 to 30 years to increase income opportunities\, create jobs and business opportunities in the agri-business sector in an inclusive and sustainable manner. \nThe SAY project is intended to contribute concretely to increased agri-skills level of youth and their gainful employment in the agribusiness sector in Uganda as part of efforts to socio-economically spur Uganda to middle-income status. \nAVSI Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bishop Stuart University (BSU) to implement the SAY project at the university.  The overall objective of this partnership is to provide Agribusiness Incubation support to innovative agri-enterprises and services\, developed by students at BSU. \nAs part of this project\, University staff will be required to provide the upcoming student enterpreneurs in the project with business mentorship support. \nInvitation: \nBSU hereby invites applications from interested members of staff (academic and administrative) for a Business Coach training.  The purpose of this training will be to impart skills to members of staff who are interested in supporting student entreprenuers in business ideation\, entrepreneurship skills\, developing business plans\, and growing students’ businesses\, among other things. \nThe training will take place in the 3rd week of August (23rd -27th) and it will be online\, 3 hours every day. DESCRIPTION:All continuing students of years 2\, 3 and 4 for programmes who are not doing internships will report for Semester one AY 2021/22 on Monday 8th November 2021. Note that teaching will be both Physical and Online (blended learning) but in a staggered manner and following the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as per MOH and NCHE directives. \nOnly those students joining year two in all programmes will report physically while those joining years 3 and 4 will report online for e-learning. DESCRIPTION:BSU-AVSI partnership in the Skilling in Agripreneurship for Increased Youth Employment (SAY) project \nAVSI Foundation is implementing the Skilling in Agripreneurship for Increased Youth Employment (SAY) Project with funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands (EKN).  SAY is a 4 year project (November 2020 to December 2024) focusing on developing competences of young people between 13 to 30 years to increase income opportunities\, create jobs and business opportunities in the agri-business sector in an inclusive and sustainable manner. \nThe SAY project is intended to contribute concretely to an increased agri-skills level of youth and their gainful employment in the agribusiness sector in Uganda as part of efforts to socio-economically spur Uganda to middle-income status. \nAVSI Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bishop Stuart University (BSU) to implement the SAY project in the university.  The overall objective of this partnership is to provide agribusiness incubation support to innovative agri-enterprises and services\, developed by students at BSU. \nBSU hereby invites applications from interested students\, aged 18-30 years\, to undertake a Business/Entrepreneurship Skills Development training between 24th and 26th November 2021\, 9.00 am – 4.00 pm everyday.  The training will be offered by ExcelHort Agribusiness Incubator (ECHAI) at BSU. The purpose of the training is to impart business skills to upcoming student entrepreneurs in the university. \nApplicants who have an innovative business idea and would like to be supported are encouraged to explain their idea in the application. Bishop Stuart University\, Mbarara University of Science and Technology and Lira University are to build the capacity of undergraduate healthcare professional students in HIV/AIDS clinical care. Part of this program involves developing the capacity of undergraduate health professional students in rural\nUganda to conduct locally relevant biomedical\, behavioral\, clinical\, and operations research on HIV and its co-comorbidities. \nHEPI-TUITAH (Health-Professional Education Partnership Initiative-Transforming Ugandan\nInstitutions Training Against HIV/AIDs) allocated funds to Bishop Stuart University for students on the\nHEPI-TUITAH program for Cohort 1\, Cohort 2\, and Cohort 3 to disseminate their work to the BSU\ncommunity and key stakeholders. \nThis\, therefore\, is to inform you that BSU is currently organizing and planning for this activity and is inviting you to be part. DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce that this year’s 13th Inter-University Human Rights Competition will be hosted at Bishop Stuart University from 20th to 21st June 2022 under the theme “Building back better: Realising Human Rights in the Post Covid-19 Era”. \nThe event will attract over 14 universities in Uganda including; Uganda Pentecostal University\, Gulu University\, Uganda Martyrs University\, Kabale University\, Cavendish University\, Kampala International University\, St. Joseph University\, Makerere University\, Busitema University\, Mbarara University of Science and Technology\, Mountains of the Moon University\, Uganda Christian University\, Kyambogo University and Islamic University in Uganda. \nThe Chief Guest will be the Principal Judge of the High Court of Uganda\, Hon. Dr. Justice Flavian Zeija (Ph.D.) and will be officially closed by Hon. Justice Joyce Kavuma\, the Senior Resident Judge\, Mbarara. \nThe event will start on Monday\, 20th June 2022 (Day 1) at 9:00 am and end on Tuesday 21st June 2022 (Day2) with a closing cultural awarding dinner.
