Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu\, University Council Member and Senior Presidential Advisor. \nDiscussant: Prof. Elly N. Sabiiti (Ph.D.)\, University Chairperson Committee of Appointments and Staff Welfare. \nModerator: Prof. Kenneth Kagame (Ph.D.)\, Chairperson University Council. \nProf. Enoka Rukare Brief History \nProf. Enoka Rukare was born in Rwenshanku village in Kashari\, Mbarara District and studied at Mbarara Junior School\, Busoga College Mwiri\, Mbarara High School and Makerere University. \nHe later went to the universities of Wales\, Colombia and London. He became saved in the 1940s. Rukare joined Makerere University in 1961 as a member of staff for the development of curriculum in the School of Education and served the university devotedly. \nFrom 1962 to 1964\, Rukare was posted as a resident tutor in the department of extra-neural studies at Makerere University College in Northern Uganda. He was re-appointed to the same position in July 1972. A year later he was appointed the Head of the Department of Education. He quickly rose through the ranks and was made professor in 1975. \nRukare was the Dean of the School of Education from 1976 to 1979. He also acted as the University Dean of students.  He retired from Makerere University in 1992 but returned to serve on the University Council. \nAccording to the First Chancellor and Chairman of the Diocesan Synod Bishop Elisha Kyamugambi\, in the year 2002\, the Synod of Ankole Diocese resolved to start a University in Kakoba\, Mbarara called Bishop Stuart University. He was charged with the task to look for the Professor to work as the Vice-Chancellor and four professors were approached but none of them turned up. Since a professor was a key requirement for the start of the University\, Prof. Rukare agreed to become a Vice-Chancellor for the newly established BSU. He served from 2002 to 2004. \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n About Prof. Enoka Rukare\n 1 file(s) 428.85 KB\n \n \n Download\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Program - Prof. Rukare Public Lecture\n 1 file(s) 225.89 KB\n \n \n Download\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Event Poster - Prof. Enoka Rukare Public Lecture\n 1 file(s) 1.15 MB\n \n \n Download\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Vice-Chancellor’s Remarks on Prof. Enoka Rukare Public Lecture\n 1 file(s) 173.86 KB\n \n \n Download
