Earlier today, the 25th of September 2023, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Gershom Atukunda together with the Dean of Students, Rev. Francis Muhangi and the Finance Officer, CPA. Isaac Muzoora flagged off a team of four (4) Bishop Stuart University students who will represent the University in the upcoming East African Inter-University Star Quiz Competition at Makerere University, scheduled from 26th to 28th September 2023.
The competition is organized by the KALIBU East Africa Presidential Awards in collaboration with the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), of which Bishop Stuart University is a valued member. This year’s quiz is intended to celebrate the 30 years of the revived East African Community with the theme “Higher Education the Bridge for Integration of East Africa”.
Bishop Stuart University has had a tradition of excellence in such competitions, and this is no exception. It is with great pride that we send off these four exceptional students to represent BSU at this prestigious competition. The students selected to participate are Atujuna Racheal, Sigire Adonia, Nabasa David and Nuwampire Maxensia.
Our students have demonstrated remarkable performance in previous competitions. They recently achieved distinction as the Best University in Uganda at the East African Debate Championships in Kigali. Additionally, last year, BSU team emerged victorious in the Inter-University Competition, which was broadcast live on NBS Television. Each participating student received a laptop as a reward for their outstanding performance.
With this impressive track record, we have high hopes for our students’ success in the East African Inter-University Star Quiz Competition.
