Yesterday 8th September 2020, Bishop Stuart University hosted a team of officials from the National Council for Higher Education, Uganda led by Prof. Jude Lubega together with Dr. Anthony Kakooza who had come to verify the readiness of the University in regard to reopening and emergency ODeL(Open Distance Learning) implementation and establishment of FAR Center.

The team was received by the University Top Management led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Maud Kamatenesi Mugisha and held a meeting with the university management on the requirements for the emergency ODEL preparedness and were impressed by the institution’s preparations and other few recommendations were made.

The team also inspected the Facilitated Academic Resource (FAR) learning Centre – a project that was established in 2018 by Bishop Stuart University in partnership with Trinity Western University (TWU).

This visit was a requirement by NCHE to complete the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the two Universities. The FAR Center is aimed at housing and supporting the learning community of Trinity Western University at Bishop Stuart University.
