BSU hosts a three day Workshop on Uganda Lower Secondary School New Curriculum

Bishop Stuart University is hosting a three-day workshop for teachers on the new lower Secondary Education Curriculum of Uganda. The workshop is set to run from today 27th to Saturday 29th February 2020 in the University Main Hall.

The training is aimed at training teacher trainees on how to implement the new lower secondary curriculum in their respective schools, sharing information on the changes that have been made on the curriculum, building the capacity of the teachers to implement the competence-based curriculum, building mass of the teachers to support the implementation of the revised curriculum, equipping teacher trainers with competencies that will enable them to handle teacher trainees, and equipping lecturers with competencies on how to review the programmes.

All desirable 21st-century teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies among others have been packaged in this new curriculum. Fresh teachers coming to provide services in Uganda need to equip themselves with such employable skills matching with the new changes in the lower secondary curriculum.
