The University runs a small budget from its local resources to support high priority research by senior members of staff, about 1% of the university's budget goes to research, and however, this figure is projected to increase significantly as university revenue improves. However, the University encourages staff members and partners to constantly seek research funding from a number of organizations. The University is currently involved in collaborative research with other research institutions and it continues to seek vital collaborations to complement its local expertise in cutting edge research. This is in line with global trends, as many leading Universities are taking bold strides in the area of joint research and other collaboration endeavors with various Universities all over the globe.
International Collaboration is not restricted to research and staff development, it also embraces the core area of training. For example, the University through the faculties of Applied Sciences is seeking development of joint degree programmes with other Universities.

- Student identifies a research area
- Student proposes a supervisor
- Develops a concept paper and discuss it with the proposed supervisor
- Develops a proposal and presents to a research committee
- Signs a research contract with the supervisor
- Carries out the research
- Writes the Thesis
- Fixes the appointment with the research coordinator to present his/her Thesis after obtaining approval from the supervisor
- Presents the Thesis
Makes corrections as suggested by the committee and submits the final three copies to the Academic Registrars Office
