The Faculty is one of the youngest units of the University, dedicated to advancing agricultural and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) development through training, knowledge generation and service delivery in Uganda and the region. We are proud to be one of the premier Applied Sciences Faculties in South Western Uganda which has contributed to human capacity and this has been done through promotion of staff talent, improved teaching and enhancement of research and outreach facilities.

We offer undergraduate programmes in Agriculture and ICT including Agribusiness Management & Community Development, Computer Science and Information Technology. Graduates from this Faculty are professionals; we therefore ensure that as students participate in field internships where they get opportunity to apply theories, concepts and techniques in real-life situations. This also strengthens partnerships with stakeholders especially the community.

The Faculty is involved in identifying innovative approaches for improving agriculture and ICT to ensure positive changes in populations’ livelihood. The programmes identify needs and find solutions to ICT, agricultural, environmental, food security and quality of life concerns.

What makes our Faculty unique is the fact that all programs are linked to community development thus applied sciences, hence able to provide well trained human resources at the same time. No wonder, therefore, the Faculty is one of the leading units in terms of Applied Sciences.

We conduct outreach activities to disseminate the solutions beyond Bishop Stuart University campus. This is done through attachment of students to outreach firms/firms both rural and urban to strengthen capacities of practitioners in different disciplines.

We are proud of a total of 13 well trained academic staff of which one is PhD, six are Masters and six are Bachelors holders who are highly qualified and who continue to provide the right quality training and provide consultancy services and collaborate with internal organization and other universities.

Future developments of the Faculty will be guided by the university strategic plan which is already in place. We are grateful to the multiple organizations and individual development partners - from donors to farmers and including national and international training, research and outreach institutions - whose involvement with us has led to the accomplishment of the activities presented on the university website. Please browse the site and experience the impact of Bishop Stuart University.

The goal of the Faculty is to " Develop Intellectual capacity of students/scientists and equip them with the knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to positively influence sustainable agricultural and ICT development”.

The Faculty is proud of a total 13 well trained academic staff. These serve an average of 150 undergraduate students per year, who are distributed in 3 departments. The Departments are Agribusiness Management, Agriculture and Computer Science.
